AFTER answering a casting call ad on a whim, Buderim local Jackson found himself in a Sydney TV studio in nothing but his undies.

But people have done stranger things for love.

The 28-year-old web designer will appear on an upcoming episode of Undressed, SBS's 'diverse' new dating show.

The tantalising series, based on an Italian format, asks singles matched by their potential compatibility to strip each other down to their underwear at the start of a half-hour date in a room featuring only a bed, a big-screen TV and cameras.

"I saw something on Facebook, clicked on it and didn't think anything of it," Jackson told the Daily.

"I started getting phone calls (from producers) and answered some questions. The next thing I know I'm in Sydney in my jocks getting in bed with a random person."

Once they have undressed each other, the participants are prompted to discuss particular topics which flash up on the TV screen.

"I was nervous; it's like going for a job interview," Jackson said. "But once I was in there in the bed in my underwear I was comfortable."

At the end of the revealing speed date, Jackson and his date Candice, a 24-year-old retail manager from Brisbane, had to decide if they wanted to see each other again.

Undressed airs Mondays at 9.30pm on SBS. Jackson's episode airs on February 20.
