Brownlow medallists lead strong international squad

THE AFL has announced the Australian squad that will take on Ireland in a two-Test series that kicks off next month.

The last three Brownlow Medal winners will lead the squad, with Dustin Martin, Patrick Dangerfield and Nat Fyfe all named. Dual winner Gary Ablett is also included.

Rory Sloane, Josh Kelly, Zach Merrett, Scott Pendlebury and Joel Selwood are also included in what is an extremely talented Australian midfield.

Australia will host Ireland across two matches.

Firstly, at Adelaide Oval on Sunday November 12. And secondly, at Domain Stadium on Saturday November 18.

Pearce Hanley, Conor McKenna and Zach Tuohy are expected to lead the Ireland side.

Ireland holds the Cormac McAnnellen Trophy after defeating Australia in the one-off Test at Croke Park in Dublin in 2015.
