FORMER radio host Sam Frost has revealed the shocking way she found out her show was axed, describing it as "ruthless."
The ex-Bachelorette told Nova 100's Chrissie, Sam and Browny today that she'd only discovered she was out of a job after reading about it on this website.
"I found out my show was axed via news.com.au ... [Before that] I was like, 'it's just some rumours,' then saw it was a statement from my boss ... [I was like] 'bugger, looks like I can't afford my mortgage, bloody hell.'"
She added: "It's a bit ruthless."
Frost co-hosted 2DayFM's prime time breakfast slot with Rove McManus for just one year before being swapped to a late shift amid dismal ratings.
The 7-8pm Rove and Sam show lasted just six months in 2017 before the pair was completely axed from the network.
The Hit Network declined to comment on Frost's claims when contacted by news.com.au.
During the no-holds-barred interview, host Chrissie Swan also grilled Frost on her appearance on Seven's ill-fated cooking reality series last year.
"Did you learn anything from Hell's Kitchen, other than ruining an international franchise? I had such high hopes, but it was s**thouse," Swan told her bluntly.
Frost agreed, adding: "It was so disappointing!"
Luckily, the former reality star's fortunes appear to have turned around - both personally and professionally.
She's set to make her debut on Home and Away next Monday, and has found love with longtime friend Dave Bashford, following her high-profile split from Bachelorette contestant Sasha Mielczarek in 2016.
Opening up about her new relationship, Frost described Bashford as her "best mate" and said falling in love was "easy and effortless."
"There's always speculation and rumours and trash [dating in the public eye] so it's really nice to just stay in a little private bubble ... Then when you have ups and downs you do it privately, instead of splashing it in the headlines."
